ADEPT

ADEPT? Is it a school program for students or a business?
January 12, 2010 the day when Dr. Paje and Professor Grama introduced to our class the ADEPT ( Advance English Proficiency Training). It was our Campus Journalism class that day, our time ended being confused, arguing, complaining, and demanding about the circumstances we will face. We are all curious about the reasons why we have to take this training that is not included in our curriculum. First, our time..for me, as a working student, I don't have the most of my time. My schedule is already patterned to the things I must do. After school hours, I must hurry to my work place. And as I noticed, those professors are not bothered whether we "working students" can't attend that ADEPT. Are we exempted? Or unlucky? I also have classmates, there are three or four of them that is already a housewife who can't do their task to their children and at home considering this training will consume three hours. They should really consult us first before they required us to get this training. Second, as to what Miss Ina said "honestly, you can learn that things by yourself". So what's the sense of having this training? Third, it won't affect our grades. Why do we have to take it? They are encouraging us with their words that it is indeed useful and we are lucky because we are the beneficiary of this training. Fourth, the first decision was to replace ADEPT to our Campus Journalism class which is about Monday and Wednesday. How about our class there, it is also one of our major subject. What are we going to learn in an hour class and we will only meet once a week? Tragic right? Lastly, we can work on it by summer and why they are in a hurry to let us take this training?
Now, is it "we" who can benefit this training? Is there something behind this ADEPT that we should know?

The holiday may be over, but the time for new things may it be gadgets like cellphone, isn't over yet.
Those who had kept themselves updated with the latest models in phones and noticed with a slight tinge of regrets the fact that mobile producers have been producing too many models in a year that it has become quite impractical for people who panic every time a new model is introduced.
There is a huge number of Asian who mostly consumed their money in gadgets. Asia, which has fared better than the rest of the world during the financial crisis have the demand of gadgets that is high, according to the research firm Springboard. Mobile Marketing Association (MMA) predicted that the next billion users of mobile devices and services will likely come from Asia, a region that continue to lead the pace of the global mobile growth.
Many Filipino prefer and are fond of having modern gadgets. And what is usually the main purpose? Display? Even if it is only imitations, some are still eager to buy just to fit in what is new and just to say you're 'in'. And without considering its quality. Sometimes, because it is the latest trends, some sort to have debt with a percentage like the use of a credit card for their self glorification. Oftentimes, many are of lack of knowledge in exploring and using their gadgets that cause them into trouble. And honestly, having a modern gadget is a treat of your life.
But we cannot deny the fact that these gadgets makes our life easier, and help us to be more efficient, such as utilities, business, or personal.

Are you one of us?

population growth

With an annual growth rate of 2.04 percent, the country's population is expected to hit 94 million this year, according to the Commission on Population. Faced with a high growth rate our nation's resources must be sufficient enough to meet the demands of the population.

One of the factors that leads to the growth of population was early parenting of our youth today. They are prone of getting married at their young age because of unwanted pregnancy. Why is that happening? I saw a pedicab and it has a placard saying "Lustfullness destroys studies." About 35 percent of the youth have insufficient knowledge and unaware of the consequences about having a family that add up to the booming of population.

The main hope of a nation lies in the proper education of its youth. One reason the youth of today are so poor at this basic life fact, of course, is that as a society we have not bothered to make sure every person is taught the essentials of handling emotions and or resolving conflicts of life.
