ADEPT? Is it a school program for students or a business?
January 12, 2010 the day when Dr. Paje and Professor Grama introduced to our class the ADEPT ( Advance English Proficiency Training). It was our Campus Journalism class that day, our time ended being confused, arguing, complaining, and demanding about the circumstances we will face. We are all curious about the reasons why we have to take this training that is not included in our curriculum. First, our time..for me, as a working student, I don't have the most of my time. My schedule is already patterned to the things I must do. After school hours, I must hurry to my work place. And as I noticed, those professors are not bothered whether we "working students" can't attend that ADEPT. Are we exempted? Or unlucky? I also have classmates, there are three or four of them that is already a housewife who can't do their task to their children and at home considering this training will consume three hours. They should really consult us first before they required us to get this training. Second, as to what Miss Ina said "honestly, you can learn that things by yourself". So what's the sense of having this training? Third, it won't affect our grades. Why do we have to take it? They are encouraging us with their words that it is indeed useful and we are lucky because we are the beneficiary of this training. Fourth, the first decision was to replace ADEPT to our Campus Journalism class which is about Monday and Wednesday. How about our class there, it is also one of our major subject. What are we going to learn in an hour class and we will only meet once a week? Tragic right? Lastly, we can work on it by summer and why they are in a hurry to let us take this training?
Now, is it "we" who can benefit this training? Is there something behind this ADEPT that we should know?
